This summer, the medical physics community is enjoying country music and braving the heat in Nashville, Tennessee (USA) while getting a glimpse of the future and beyond, at the 60th annual meeting and exhibition of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).When the doors open on July 29, participants will be greeted with a host of cutting-edge symposia, panel discussions, courses and workshops on the latest medical physics topics. With medicine and health models evolving so quickly, the AAPM believes a 5-year horizon is too short: this year, they want to look beyond what we can predict.Medical imaging has a big role to play: innovative imaging techniques for digital radiography, CT, MRI and US show a lot of promise for improving patient care and reducing dose, two areas to which Agfa is committed.

We’ll have more details on how Agfa has been involved in the topics, in the coming days.
