Agfa HealthCare Middle East participated between the 4th and the 7th of December in the second UAE Belgian week in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. The event was organized by the Belgian Embassy together with Belgian Business Council of Dubai.

It focused on “Health and Innovation,” supporting one of the strategic objectives announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. As one of the event’s ‘golden supporters’, Agfa HealthCare’s President, Mr. Luc Thijs was privileged to be one of the speakers on the 6th of December where he told delegates how Agfa HealthCare is transforming from a photochemical company to an E-health solutions specialist by undergoing continuous transformation through innovation and change management to ensure market competitiveness.

At the event, Agfa HealthCare handed out awards to three of its main customers. Agfa HealthCare presented an award to Dr. Jorge Guzman, Acting Chief of Staff at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi for its successful collaboration with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is a world class multi-specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi, known as the most sophisticated and advanced hospital in the Middle East. Agfa HealthCare through its Enterprise Medical Imaging solution is privileged to be part of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s vision in providing outstanding patient care, superior clinical outcomes, and improved quality of life.

Agfa HealthCare also gave an award to Sharjah Municipality Public Health Clinic. The award was presented to Dr. Mousa Abdulsattar Al Azzawi, Head of the Public Health Clinic, Sharjah. The clinic is the leading healthcare provider for screening services in Sharjah, performing more than 1,200 examinations each day. The clinic chose Agfa HealthCare to provide it with a high-end medical imaging management solution to support its workforce in increasing efficiency and productivity within its radiology departments.

Dubai Health Authority, the main driver of healthcare services in Dubai was also recognized at the event. Agfa HealthCare’s partnership with DHA goes back to 2007, when Agfa HealthCare was appointed the key provider for digitization and medical imaging solutions to the first regional picture archiving and communication system (PACS) in the Middle East. After ten years, this has grown to provide over 1.5 million exams per year, networked over more than 20 institutions and primary healthcare clinics. The partnership between Agfa HealthCare and Dubai Health Authority continuous to grow and develop in line with the Dubai leadership’s smart government initiative, and the Dubai Health Strategy 2016-2021, through innovative integrated care models and Artificial Intelligence collaboration.
