The Santa Casa of Avaré Hospital in Brazil, acquired a DR 400 system in order to increase the quality and efficiency of the imaging workflow. This 120-year institution has 174 beds and a complete imaging department.
Santas Casas are filantropic hospitals financed by government and donations that provide free care and treatment to the most vulnerable people. The first Santa Casa were founded in Portugal in the 15th century and this healthcare model was brought to Brazil in the mid 1500s. “Santa Casa” in portuguese means “Holy House”, and it offers all medical specialities to the people. Today there are more than 2.000 Santas Casas Hospitals in Brazil, spread over the main middle and large cities across the country.
