On Sunday 27 January 2019, Jan Leeuws – Head of Direct Export – and his team, welcomed our customers and business partners from different parts of the Middle East and Africa, to the Agfa Radiology Solutions Regional Customer Event in Dubai . “Intelligent Radiography” was the theme of the day.
The program started with scientific lectures on potential future developments in the Radiology field, which captured the attention of the audience. Vincent Van Nieuwenhove, PhD. Research Engineer at Agfa Radiology Solutions opened the scientific part with his insights on Tomosynthesis for chest and extremities. During his presentation the power of 3D MUSICA image processing on the DR 600 was demonstrated. The next speaker, Jeroen Cant, PhD. Manager Technology Development IMG R&D at Agfa Radiology Solutions, touched a hot topic : “Smart DR : artificial intelligence at work in X-ray imaging”. In a very clear way, he showed the future potential of AI in this domain.
The second part of the scientific program started with the lecture of Professor Van Goethem from the Antwerp University, on the “Added value of image processing in digital mammography”. Thanks to her extensive experience in the field of Mammography and Breast Cancer screening, she shared valuable information. To conclude the afternoon program, Georges Espada, Head of Agfa’s Radiology Solutions CR & DR Business Unit, explained his view on Agfa’s DR strategy and the road ahead.
Some tasteful intermezzos by the Belgian chocolatier Centho, created a pleasant break during the event. The surprise of the day was the raffle draw for a helicopter flight over Dubai for 4 lucky winners.
In the evening during dinner, our customers had the opportunity to network with their peers C.E.O.’s, Directors, Sales Managers, Radiologists and Engineers from different countries as well as with the Agfa team present.
