In the majority of hospitals, radiologists are vital members of the emergency team, in charge of imaging services such as x-ray, MRI and CT. Huge numbers of people are sent to have ‘scans’ in emergency situations across the world every day, to get an image of their particular problem. Radiologists are the highly trained medical staff responsible for examining those images and making a diagnosis. Every year, the International Day of Radiology celebrates a different field of radiology, and this year IDoR 2017 highlights the essential role that radiologists play in the emergency room, increasing the quality of care and treatment of patients.
Agfa HealthCare gladly joins the celebrations of the International Day of Radiology. Our IDOR image is part of our forthcoming 2018 Agfa HealthCare desk calendar DR. FRUIT, a month-by-month digital radiographic study of fruits from around the world. The images were taken using Agfa HealthCare’s high performance DR 600 digital X-ray system and MUSICA image processing.
